Global Media Company is seeking an experienced commercial and information technology lawyer with background in information services transactions, and commercial contracting, preferably in the Tech or Media industry. This Counsel position is responsible for legal matters arising in North and South Americas, and the United States.

In this role, you will oversee a broad variety of legal work including commercial and transactional work in support of regional business centers, advising business leaders on legal and commercial issues associated with the company’s B2B products.


  • Responsible for legal matters arising in the Americas region, including but not limited to advising Sales in relation to negotiation and structure of sales transactions, and advising relevant personnel in relation to negotiation and structure of relationships with information providers, vendors, consultants, and distributors;
  • Review and negotiate inbound software development agreements, consulting agreements, and maintenance agreements;
  • Participate in activities, such as revising and updating contract templates, conducting training sessions for the B2B sales team in the Americas, sharing knowledge of legal and commercial policy changes both to legal and business colleagues;
  • Participate in frequent but ad hoc projects which may be region specific or global in nature; and?


  • A lawyer with 3-7 years’ experience with a license to practice in New York or New Jersey or the ability to secure in house counsel licensure.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreements.
  • Some knowledge and experience with data protection and privacy law is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail. Brazilian (Portuguese) and/or Spanish language skills desirable but not required.
  • Exercise good judgment regarding confidential/material, non-public information.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exercise good judgment in setting priorities.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation, with an ability to work in a collaborative and congenial team environment or independently.
  • Ability to work with clients from varying disciplines and geographic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to discuss issues with or present to high-level executives and decision makers.
  • Superior work ethic and dedication to ethics and professional responsibility.
