Our client, a highly regarded AM Law 100 global firm, is seeking an Associate to join the IP Practice of their North Jersey office. The Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work with clients, large and small, from a variety of industries across the country. The New Jersey team has a dynamic and continually growing practice focused on a broad range of intellectual property matters. Job Requirements:
This position will support the IP Practice working on the strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios. Applicants should have at least two to five years’ focused experience in the following areas:
- Drafting chemical- and mechanical-related patent applications
- Prosecuting chemical- and mechanical related patent applications
- Managing global patent portfolios (preferred)
- Preparing opinions concerning freedom-to-operate (preferred)
Candidates must be in good standing with the New Jersey Bar or be admitted as soon as practicable; and registered to practice before the USPTO. Candidates with a degree or an advanced degree in chemical engineering are preferred, although candidates with degrees in materials science, chemistry, or strong relevant experience in any one of these areas will also be considered. A strong understanding of chemistry and related principles is a plus. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, be comfortable working directly with clients, and possess strong writing and analytical skills.
The expected pay range for this position is:
$185,000-$230,000 per year
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
